USPS VP Position Downgraded, New COO Gets $25,000 Relocation Pay

The US Postal Service filed a Form 8-K with the Postal Regulatory Commission listing changes to Executives. According to the filing:

On December 8, 2010, the United States Postal Service (the “Postal Service”) announced that Megan Brennan, age 48, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President. This appointment becomes effective December 18,2010. Previously, Ms. Brennan served as Vice President, Eastern Area Operations from December, 2006 to December, 2010, and Vice President, Northeast Area Operations from April, 2005 to December, 2006. Ms. Brennan will receive a payment of $25,000 to help cover relocation costs.

Stephen M. Kearney, Senior Vice President, Customer Relations, has retained his position, but by virtue of a realignment of his duties effective December 8, 2010, he is no longer an executive officer as that term is defined in the rules adopted under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

  1. Good for her! She was an excellent DM when we had the Springfield MA district and she was a good VP for NE Area. We could do a lot worse than her as COO, which could lead to PMG. Could you imagine Haney instead of her? If all you can focus on is the money, then you need help. Here is someone who is competent, has a hands on knowledge of the USPS, is someone who lead us locally, and knows what it is like to work in the craft. So maybe instead of bashing the woman becasue she got a relocating suplement, try being a little more grown up and supportive.

  2. The same megan brennan that got her job because of an EEO complaint she filed against Gary Fahey while in Mass.

  3. I am thinking that the COO should refuse this if they really CARE about the continued health of the postal service. That is a half a years salary for us poor working stiffs who get jerked around and threatened to be excessed every time we turn around and ptfs that get sent on four hour lunches. And no relocation for us. Sounds like unequal treatment to me, but is just par for the course in ntodays postal service with abusive money wasting managers and supervisors.

  4. The same Megan Brennan that was set up in Cambridge MA in an apartment with a T-1 line so she could continue her education. Wow they take care of each other….And she didn’t pay rent either..

  5. If i get excessed to another facility- will the usps pay for my relocation? Time to bring back the old postal service and stop this failed experiment that is called todays post office!

  6. actually she can ask for and WILL BE GIVEN THE FULL AMOUNT OF THE COST OF THE MOVE..THIS IS GOP….ERR FOX NEWS TYPE TALK…THEY ARE IN A NO LOSS NO GAIN STATUS…AND THOSE DINNERS WHILE TRAVELING ARE REALLY EXPENSIVE…RUTH CRIST STEAK HOUSE AT 500 BUCKS A DINNER…Hey maybe she can run into Shawn Hannaity and they can exchange stories of how they lie and screw over the little guy while breaking bread…special guest Glen Beck will say the prayer before the 9 course meal and then he can write off the dinner on his taxes while the government picks up the tab so he gets to double dip.Lord help us all. Unless you are seeing all this from the GOP side of thinking and then it is all just another day in paradise.
