APWU To Skip Publication of March/April Magazine

APWU News

As a result of short-term financial difficulties, the APWU is cancelling publication of the March/April 2009 edition of The American Postal Worker magazine.

This is expected to be a one-time adjustment.

Please look for the May/June issue in your mailbox in the spring.

  1. The APWU is effectively robbing portions of your dues money and funneling it to the Democratic party. Although they have done this legally by funding the costs of the COPA political machine with non-Copa money, you need to know that this is what has happened. You cannot be a member of the APWU without effectively paying a Democratic cover charge anymore. It takes 3 presidential cycles just to get to arbitration in this union because politics appears to be the main item on the agenda. Why have I always known who the APWU wanted me to vote for but never knew when my arbitration was scheduled? Think about it and do something about it. Independents, Republicans, and Tea Party activists should stand up for their principles this year and make a difference. Vote your pocketbook this time. You have a choice to shove your APWU membership up their butt in the same fashion that they have shoved Liberal politics and Socialism down your throat. After 10 Years as Maintenance Craft Director I am now a non-member. I intend to funnel my dues money to my own candidates and party and I am confident that I am not alone. President Burris has lost his audience on politics and he hasn’t a clue or a care about your feelings on the matter unless you send him a message. This will be my first year that I have not supported the Democratic party against my will because a made a choice to send this union a message. The choice is yours, make it on your own, and there is no bias intended, just my opinion.

  2. The union is my bitch. You craft people are screwed. Nothing personal. I just need another 39 percent raise and need more Vice Presidents.

  3. STAY IN THE UNION. ONE OF THESE DAYS SOON YOU WILL NEED THEM AND YOU’LL BE SO SORRY YOU GOT OUT. THE UNION USES OUR DUES TO PAY FOR ALOT OF PAPER SUPPLIES EEO’S ETC. PLEASE STAY IN THE UNION AND KEEP IT GOING OR WE ALL WILL BE OUT ON OUR BUTTS…THINK ABOUT IT…BUBBLESNY1 A.K.A. POSTAL UNION MEMBER FOREVER AND EVER TILL THE DAY I DIE.

  4. Go to Williamburrus.com and take a look at the President’s house. Maybe you can figure why they can’t afford to print and MAIL the magazine.

  5. You are kidding right? You can expect a pay cut on the next contract, just as the UAW union members agreed to in order to keep their jobs at the US auto plants. The union gravy train for losers like you to make big money is OVER. What would you do if the USPS shuts down? Flip burger moron? We already know you have a widestance, so maybe your gay partner will take care of you.

  6. Makes sense to me. Everybody out of the union. No more union. No more contract. No more raises. Good thinking moron.

  7. All APWU members should quit the union. The APWU is useless, unless of course, you are a crappy worker and the USPS wants to fire you.

  8. Heh. Burrus is putting together his own stimulus plan: all the union’s money goes into his pocket. Maybe he’d invested a few mill with Madoff.

I think it’s time for a forensic audit of the union’s books.

  9. Sorry to say, but this is just the beginning! Sorry Ass Union! PO is even worse! Union people need to be informed, especially now. Good luck!

  10. That is ridiculous. With all the union dues collected from us each pay period, how can they be in a financial bind. Get out of the union now. You have a window period of 10 days to get out of the union each year. This window is 10-20 days before you signed up for the union. Not hired in, but signed up for the union.
