  1. If you read the text it clearly states that both of these projects are renovation (demo and new construction) of EXISTING square footage. In the case of Los Angeles, it excess space at the LA P&DC.

  2. But I agree! Perfect example of our ‘management’ in the USPS! “Let’s build a new building instead of using one of thousands that we aready own and are maintaining.” Sounds like a perfectly sound and wonderful idea to me, especially in a failing USPS that supposedly has no money.

Hmmmm. What’s wrong with this picture? And do these people REALLY thing that everyone is a stupid as they are?

  3. Chuck Smith, Richard Buckler and Danny Neal in the Indianapolis PVS (MVS) are working hard to dismantle the motor vehicle operations there. They are probably giving the country classes on how to NOT post jobs, etc.

  4. The APWU is able to get 1000 good jobs in areas that likely have excesssing issues and people still complain. It is time that we support OUR Union and the people WE elected to fight for us. Look around people, not too many companies are adding new jobs that pay $55,000 plus per year. Great job President Guffey getting work that your predecessor could not get.

  5. Partial privatization of USPS is inevitable and the Unions will not stop it, the work environment coupled with inept management and those incentives and bonuses, no real accountability,Carriers will continue delivering Mail is part of Federal Emergency Management Act, the processing part will be privatized, anyone who thinks that EAS will continue to be paid as much as they get 60k , 80k, 100k, … and the salaries as we have them will continue, eat another magic mushroom!
This USPS is not run professionally, it rather is “Run into the Ground”, from the PMG down.

  6. Goofey comes thru again. Thank APWU for not wanting you all to go but having the foresight to provide for landing spots since you all aren’t going anywhere now that USPS has no dough and keeps losing dough. Your hopes for another VERA w/incentive just went down the toilet thanks to delays by Goofey and his group. You can give him thanks at the LA National Pin Trading Convention going on in LA this month. Lots of liquor this year at the hoedown! You’ll need it !

  7. ok, we are closing the call center at HRSSC? the call center for eBUY, (connecticut) what about the employees that are career that relocated to these places? and why California. to appease Issa?

  8. The Troy call center is located in a USPS owned bldg. The construction contract mentioned is for creating cubicles within the bldg I believe. Personally, I don’t believe the call centers are real…..but then again, neither am I.

  9. Let’s see 15 jobs added 120,000 lost………
That’s a loss of 8000 jobs for each one gained.
Keep up the good work APWU.

  10. Greensboro NC has 2 fully operational call centers recently vacated why not lease already available

  11. Lots of free space in Kansas City. Sorry I forgot we are going broke, so why not go out a buy or lease a new place. This is what I mean by poor management.

  12. are yoy kidding may 2013!!! if they filed a grievance it would have been heqrd by then what type of bs is this

  13. Kevin

Great point. If we are closing facilities why not use them for the call center operations. This is another example of business people who do not understand business.
