USPS List of Post Offices To Be Upgraded under POStPlan

From the National League of Postmasters:

The Postal Service has provided the list of offices that will be upgraded to level 18 under the POStPlan process. Each incumbent Postmaster will receive a letter from the Postal Service informing them of this upgrade. Salary raises will follow current Postal Service policy. Postmasters whose salary is not at the minimum of a level 18 will be slotted in at the minimum of the level 18 pay scale. Postmasters above the minimum salary of the level 18 will receive a 2 percent raise.

  1. Bruce, I work at a level 16 office that will be a level 18. Also there is an office 3 miles from us that is going from 15 to 18… does that mean we will be getting their carriers and volume? That level 15 office has no postmaster-vacant…. does that mean clerk will get more hours?… I am getting tons of different stories on this stuff….

  2. Lanny – Don’t believe everything you hear until you see it happen. The new 18’s that pick up offices will not have that responsiblity….the transportation will still arrive and pick up as normal. The new non career PM’s in 2 and 4 offices will be responsible for those duties as will the Part Time PM’s in level 6 offices. The added responsibility will come in the way of Financial, stock, and other management duties like counts, audits ect. Keep in mind that 11’s, 13’s, 15’s and some 16’s are going up to 18 becuase of those duties they pick up…..

The current 18’s that pick up duties will receive additional credits under their WSC’s and that will determine if they go up to 19 or 20. Some current 18’s are barely making the WSC numbers in order to be an 18 and can take on the work

  3. Bruce: I work in one of the offices that is absorbing another office. We are expected to process their mail and ours without any increase in staff and complete the process in the same amount of time. But I guess that is fair. Oh I forgot “FAIR” is just another four letter word that starts with “F”.

  4. Union decries plan

“This is a bad plan,” said Sally Davidow, spokeswoman for the American Postal Workers Union. “It’s essentially the same plan the Postal Service released some months ago. And the only difference appears to be that the [implementation timeline] is a little bit more spread out”, we are currently negotiating the VERA/ Incentives within the jurisdiction of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The National Postal Mail Handlers Union is working with the Postal Service on terms of possible early-retirement incentives.

“We intend to work closely with those locals affected by the August closings and consolidations,” said NPMHU president John Hegarty. “And, as always, it will be imperative that we enforce the contract to ensure that all mail-handler rights are protected.”

  5. Hey, remember PMG Carvin’ Marvin in the early 90’s?? In the end, it just turned out to be the same crap, but he had the right idea though (trim the fat from management). For awhile there, he had management spooked real bad. It was fun to watch while it lasted! We actually gained more supervisors in the Tampa P&DC during this time. We got rejects & the “bad apples” from around the country!

  6. RAISE?????? broke, none of this makes any sense to me!!!!!!! There should be an investigation on the postmaster general.

  7. You guys are idiots. 13,000 PM’s are losing thier jobs and being relocated into other jobs. If they stay where they are they take a 50% pay cut. How many craft would do this? NONE! the offices that are gonig up to level 18 are picking up 1 to 10 smaller offices under them. Read before you blow.

  8. This is due to the fact that the remaining PM’s are going to be responsible for managing those offices that are taking the reduction in hours.

  9. if anyone looks at the new postplan structure on the Napus site you will see alot of the postmasters are gonna get shafted . about time

  10. It is over, it is finished, the USPS will have management, resurrected under various titles and low paid craft, the new PSE’s and whatever they hire, we are all going, soon.

  11. So the union should get us all a nice VERA/Incentive, this is it, they busted the unions, and they will whine for dues, instead of taking care of You!

  12. management will aggrevate and bully the crafts to no end and i mean no end. if the masses don’t like it, get out. this is their plan to replace everyone with te’s period. it puts a smile on their faces when workers bitch and complain, just a sick way of doing business. management will load up with more benefits and raises before congress can get a hold of them. keep wishing for incentives and guess what, you do the math. the usps is going down and the leaders are in the lifeboats with a ton of money and still wanting more. so the raping of the postal service by management will continue till a higher power intervenes or we go under. be sure to vote out at election time, any scumbag who will do harm to you and your family. we can win this battle if everybody sticks together. GOD bless our troops and faithful vets.

  13. This really just sums the USPS up nicely. We are loosing billions every year and what does the USPS do? It gives its Postmasters a pay rise??? I just do not understand the PMG’s logic?? Its almost like he is totally out of control.

  14. HOLY COW.. I’VE NEVER BEEN SO CONFUSED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. THIS GUY CHANGES HIS MIND LIKE HE CHANGES HIS UNDERWEAR!!!!! I CAN’T OPEN THAT LIST OF POST OFFICES, i ASSUME IT IS A LIST OF POST OFFICES SLOTTED FOR CLOSURE.. OH DID I SAY CLOSURE NO I NEVER SAID THAT…

  15. LET’S SEE REDUCE HOURS CUT INCOME, BILLIONS IN DEBT, EARLY INCENTIVES TO LEAVE . NOW WE SAY IF YOU DON’T LEAVE YOU GET A RAISE? WHAT IS GOING ON HERE? THERE IS NOT A NO LAYOFF CLAUSE FOR MANAGEMENT,LET’S START BY CUTTING MANAGEMENT! WHAT A JOKE!

  16. Who is actually surprised at this. Of course the post office will take care of their own management. We lost our District a few months ago and one by one all the people are slowly coming back, different job titles. Also, when we lost our District the next month the PMG hired 2 more vice presidents. I have always said that the post office has money, just not for the workers. You know, the people who actually touch the mail.

  17. SMFH, I just dont believe this, When were losing billions their giving the postmasters a RAISE?????? How bout we consolidate and close headquarters and sell that building, we can move them to one of the SIX post offices they have available to congress
