Update: APWU Q & A On 2010-2015 Contract

The APWU has posted a series of Questions and Answers [pdf] regarding the recently-negotiated Collective Bargaining Agreement, Industrial Relations Director Mike Morris announced July 6. “We have been meeting with our counterparts at the Postal Service to resolve a number of issues that have caused confusion in the field,” he said. “We have agreement on 65 items and are continuing discussions on the remaining items.

“We also have posted the APWU position on the outstanding questions [pdf] while we continue our conversations with management.

“We expect to reach agreement on many of the remaining items and will issue another Questions-and-Answers document at that time,” Morris said. “We decided to issue the APWU’s position in response to inquiries from union representatives in the field.

The Industrial Relations Department also has posted a map [pdf] that shows staffing for Level 15-and-above post offices. “This tool will help locals monitor compliance with new contractual provisions,” Morris said.

To use the tool, click on the map, select the appropriate state, and scroll down until you find the office you are interested in.

From the American Postal Workers Union: “While there is mutual agreement on most of the new language, there is  still ongoing discussion on some of the language. The attached Q&A represents the position of the APWU on the new language.”

  1. This is for first Cav moron.

The reason mail handlers and carriers are getting a cola and we are not is because they always wait until the APWU has a contract so that they can get what we got. Thier contract has not expired yet so they get a cola. They will also miss the equivalnt number of cola’s that we are missing because they always get contracts similar to ours. Do a little research before you spout off.

  2. pay no attention to this contract !!! It along with all postal unions will be gone by 2012 election time, I am just waiting on the NALC to start pushing their contract, then it will be bye bye…… I am giving postal employees in my district a chance to retire with a VERa…. gotta have there votes you know!!

  3. rush ditto head…..you sound like mike morris helping cliff goofy circle the wagons because the indians are starting to wake up to the fact and see how Goofy & Morris’s are complete failures.

$1,019 reasons these to losers should fall on their swords. hari-kari to good for the scum****! no raise, no cola, no OT and 30 hour “full time” workweek.

you must be on their “leadership team” lmao!

  4. The key to this disclaimer is: ” The Union’s position on the solely developed APWU Q&A”. Management hasn’t signed off on it like a JCIM. So it ain’t worth crap!

  5. mailhandlers & carriers $1,019 COLA…..clerks $0.00 this scum***! Cliff Goofy has to be voted out asap……not wait 20 years to get rid of him like we should have gotton rid of burrass.

  6. Mutual agreement on MOST of the language? Shouldn’t they have cleared that up BEFORE it was presented to the membership? What is MOST? 50%? Unbelievable.

  7. Management at my office doesn’t agree with any Union Contracts, and does as they please as they always have, while the Union’s attempt to break the bank with the grievances that are caused by these contracts. The unions should just bargain for pay and benefits because everything else is a joke if your grievance will take 3 or so years to get pennies on the dollar, or you moved due to excessing and have already settled in your new home/town with your family; if you still got one. You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink! It’s Management Stupid!!!!

  8. WELL WE HAVE NO MONEY AT THE P.O. BUT IT IS BUSINESS AS USUAL EXCEPT WE ARE INTERVIEWING P.S.E. APPLICANTS LEFT AND RIGHT. WHAT A FARCE. STILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING MANAGEMENT POSITIONS: COUNTING EMPTY EQUIPMENT, COUNTING THE MAIL, ODIS,ETC. STILL SENDING MAIL TO F.S.S. MACHINES IN ANOTHER PLANT WHILE THEY ARE SENDING US THEIR PRIME FLATS AND PRIME LETTERS.PAYING O.T. TO WORK ALL THIS STANDARD MAIL. STILL MIXING DISCOUNTED WALK SEQUENCE IN WITH REGULAR STANDARD, PAYING O.T. TO WORK THAT TOO. PEOPLE THAT ARE MAKING THESE DECISIONS NEED TO BE FIRED!
