USPS To Test Picture Permit Imprint Indicia Concept

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mi., April 27, 2011— After months of extensive research and testing, the U.S. Postal Service has agreed to move forward with the Picture Permit Imprint Indicia concept introduced by Avanzado, LLC and spearheaded by the Mailers Technical Advisory Committee (MTAC).

This collaborative marketing initiative has been reviewed by the Postal Service in Washington, D.C., and meets all criteria to launch as a pilot on a national scale. The upcoming Beta Test Phase, which will incorporate live data, will be monitored by the Postal Service to ensure that Postal Standards are maintained through large-volume digital print runs.

According to Avanzado, LLC president Craig Frye, this is the culmination of a vision that has been in the making for over a year. “ We are very proud to be the groundbreaker for this milestone development. It’s great to see it move from its conceptual stage into an actual offering.” The unique nature of the Picture Permit Imprint Indicia will afford its users immediate recognition of their logo, product or promotion and corroborate the details of the direct mail campaign while boosting credibility and doubling the piece’s visual impact.

Chrysler Group, LLC will be the first to implement the digital imaging technology with the release of their Jeep® 70th Anniversary direct mail campaign May 2011.
