Zumbox Announces High Volume Digital Postal Mail API Program for Large Mailers

LOS ANGELES, CA, Apr 19, 2011- Zumbox, the leader in digital postal mail services, today announced the availability of a new High Volume Digital Postal Mail (HVDPM) API program which enables large independent mailers to achieve paper suppression targets, reduce postage and other mailing related expenses and improve customer communications with minimal integration efforts and no costs.

Designed for very large mailers sending transactional mail to consumer households, the free HVDPM API program includes direct access to the Zumbox digital postal system, API keys, digital delivery tools, documentation, training and evaluation accounts.

Together, the functionality delivered through the HVDPM API program will assist organizations in evaluating and delivering digital postal mail to consumer households.

As postage rates continue to rise, the HVDPM API program allows mailers to divert a copy of print stream data to Zumbox for digital presentment, eliminating up to 100% of the costs associated with producing traditional paper mail. Additionally, there are no upfront costs or set-up fees, and delivery of digital postal mail is free.

Mailers only pay when users suppress paper, ensuring that any cost comes from real savings. The APIs are very fast and easy to deploy, and an evaluation program makes it possible to assess and estimate future cost savings using real mailer data.

“Digital postal mail is offered as a cost saving alternative to paper mail from leading print service providers including DST Output, KUBRA, 3i Infotech and others,” said Mike Pompa, Vice President of Sales for Zumbox. “While these service providers are often the fastest and most economical way to deploy digital postal mail, we have also found demand for digital postal mail from very large mailers operating their own mail production centers, and the HVDPM API program addresses their needs directly.” Digital postal mail is an exact facsimile of paper mail, created from a diversion of the print stream before it reaches a large mailing system. Zumbox archives and presents mail to consumers in a secure, central, online environment, instead of on paper. Zumbox has created a digital mailbox for every street address in the United States, connecting large transactional, financial and government mailers to consumer households for the secure, on-time delivery of postal mail online.

Zumbox satisfies consumer needs for a single, central and secure location for the digital delivery and archiving of a household’s mail, forever, for free. As a result, paper suppression rates increase dramatically and postage costs plummet when digital postal mail is offered as a delivery channel for consumers.

“Every time there is an increase in postage costs from the US Postal Service, additional pressure is put on large mailers to manage that cost and we get phone calls,” said John Payne, Zumbox CEO. “This program will let mailers feeling pressure to control costs rapidly achieve increased paper suppression and reduced costs, with financial benefits felt immediately in 2011.” For more business or technical information about the HVDPM API program or software developer kit, please contact Mike Pompa, Vice President of Sales for Zumbox at mpompa@zumbox.com.
