Federal charges against the man stemmed from the theft of Target gift cards while he was working for the U.S. Postal Service
The news release said Lara was indicted on Dec. 1, 2010, on charges of stealing Target gift cards that had been placed in the U.S. mail on three occasions between Sept. 23, 2008, and Oct. 19, 2008, while he was a contract truck driver for the Postal Service in Albuquerque.
As part of his plea agreement, Lara will pay full restitution to the original purchasers of four Target gift cards worth a total of $300 that were stolen from the mail.
