On January 12, NAPUS President Bob Rapoza forwarded a letter to President Barack Obama that called upon him to use his presidential authority to direct the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to accurately and  fairly calculate the U.S. Postal Service’s pension obligations. OPM is an independent agency of the federal government, tasked with managing the federal workforce and federal employee benefit programs. NAPUS’ letter focused exclusively on the pension issue and overly-aggressive retiree health pre-funding.
