USPS Reports $456 Million Net Loss For November

$173 Million Net Loss for FY 2011

The US Postal Service yesterday filed with PRC its second month preliminary financial report of the 2011 fiscal year (unaudited) . USPS reported a net loss of $456 million for the month of November. This same period last year saw a $255 million net loss. In October USPS saw a net profit of $283 Million. After two months USPS reports a net loss of $173 million for Fiscal Year 2011 (same time last year it was $476 million.

  1. It’s a profit when management needs their bonus, a loss when management needs to eliminate jobs or close mail processing facilities.

  2. The Postal Service keep changing their munbers of profit loss!! Do they really know the real numbers or not! I believe they are just trying to justify doing away with working peole jobs in the Postal Service.l The people who are doing the real work, whie executive employees like Former Postmaster General Potter receives the big bucks that’s helping the Postal Service go under. How can a month ago there were a net profit of $173 million for the Fiscal year 2011, now in Novembera net loss of $456 million. How can the public or congressmen rely on anything they report finanically!!

    Another thing,why don’t OIG help the Postal Service get th$75 billion back from the over payment to the retiree fund. That certainly would help the Postal Service come out of its financial situation!!
