USPS Clarifies Some Early-Retirement Deadlines
APWU News
The Postal Service has informed the APWU that the deadline for eligible employees who wish to apply for Voluntary Early Retirement (VER) effective June 30 or July 31 is June 19. The USPS has also designated June 19 as the “irrevocable” date, by which employees who have applied for retirement but wish to withdraw their applications must do so.
Employees who wish to apply for VER effective May 31 must do so by May 15; the irrevocable date for May 31 retirements is May 15 as well.
An April 20 letter [PDF] to APWU President William Burrus noted that a previous correspondence contained the deadlines for May 31 retirements only

unless you’re terminally ill.who the fu*k will take the ver?there are a lot of brain damaged people in this organization,so maybe they’ll get a few of these morons.
Yeh, there are alot of stupid postmasters, or shall I say, “Ones that THINK they know every thing and have to tell you how smart they are, for you sure as hell wouln’t have picked up on it on your own!!
You should see my past history with the p.o. I was what you call a devient employee and I was promoted to postmaster. So no matter how much you trouble you cause, and how rotten your behavior is, you too can earn the lazy rank of post master. You get used to the snickers when people ask what you do and you tell them you are a pm. People see for themselves what goes on in the p o. TAKE THE EARLY OUT AND GET THE HELL OUT AND DON’T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU IN THE ASS ON THE WAY OUT!!
Look at your figures on wheater you can retire with money you will be receiving on a monthly bases. I, myself, would like to take that early retirement and get away from all this B.S. with the P.O. but I just can’t afford it as a fers employee.
Maybe we should all boycott usps and go ups until usps goes under and them work for ups, good idea?
