USPS: Deadlines Extended To Use PostalEASE For FEHB And FSA Open Season Elections

EMPLOYEE SELF-SERVICE DEADLINES FOR BELATED ELECTIONS EXTENDED

Postal employees can use PostalEASE employee self-service on LiteBlue, Blue and at employee kiosks to make some belated open season elections for the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) programs. PostalEASE belated elections are not available by phone.

As previously announced, employees have until the end of January to make belated elections for FEHB, FSA and the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP).

What’s new? Employees can use PostalEASE employee self-service through Jan. 13, 5 p.m. Central Time (CT), to make a belated FEHB election (choose the Open Season button). After that, a belated election requires a PostalEASE FEHB Worksheet, which must be completed and mailed or faxed to the HR Shared Service Center before the Jan. 31, 5 p.m. CT, deadline.

Also, employees can use PostalEASE employee self-service through Jan. 31, 5 p.m. CT, to make a belated FSA election (choose the Belated Open Season button). Only employees making their first FSA election for 2009 can use PostalEASE — it’s not for employees who already have made an FSA election that has been processed and now wish to change their election. Employees who can’t use PostalEASE must complete a PostalEASE FSA Worksheet, which must be mailed or faxed to the HR Shared Service Center before the Jan. 31, 5 p.m. CT, deadline.

The deadline for FEDVIP belated elections is Jan. 30, 7 p.m. Eastern Time. Employees should go to www.benefeds.com for further information or to make a belated election. Or they can call the Benefeds customer service toll-free number, 877-888-3337 (TTY is 877-889-5680).
