  2. the only thing that freezes in USPS is carrier’s asses in wintertime. a big shuffle of people will occur & then they’ll continue all the subltle harassment of craft wotkers in hopes of a big PFP

  3. william on Wed, 10th Dec 2008 4:26 pm
  4. anytime their is a hold, the hold up is the robbery of the crafts for the lining of the PFP.

  6. PFP is an absolute joke. The unions get WAY bigger pay raises than management does. UNLESS you are talking about the PCES people.

  10. Big changes are in store for next year. A high ranking official in the District area where I work told me The postal service will ask congress for a bailout because they are running out of money and can no longer meet the payroll. Also the top 20 paying jobs will be eliminated in the district. Of course the final step is laying off anyone who is not protected under the contract. I hope they are wrong but only time will tell.

  12. If they freeze everything then where will all the management screw ups go.Where will they dump the ones busted for harassment, and the ones whose”numbers” arent good.Dont forget the ones who flee the crafts because they dont want to work any more. Its truely a sad day for the postal services finest.

  14. does it matter how much we bitch about Management. Nothing has changed in my 30 years. Just mind your own business, do your job, stop stealing ot, and be thankful you have a job.

  16. Layoffs(RIF’s) Will not only get the lowest paids out because senior employees have the right to take a voluntary separation first with Severance$$$$ and EO if eligible. If they want someone I’ll volunteer!!!

  18. To save money, fire alot of the management. It terrible having 4 MDO’S on the same shift making 4 different decisions! Make 204bs supervisors with no union representation so they can be laid off, lay off people who constantly “bang it” and nothing happens to them because the 204b is their friend, and employees over 65 need to retire!

  20. We’re all a bunch of spoiled brats. If you don’t like your jobs, there’s plenty of people out there that would love a chance to work for USPS!

  22. In order for Congress to provide bailout money the union brass has been told to expect paycuts and benefit giveback by the current workforce and retirees. Otherwise there won’t be a dime

  24. If you did something that warranted your removal, but it’s written fact that a supervisor did the same thing and all he received was a 30-day suspension and allowed to retire, does that mean that you should get a break of some sort if you’re not eligible to retire? if a close member of your church family had died the night before, you were going through EAP, and management denied your request to attend the viewing, are these mitigating circumstances? If you can prove that you tried to phone your psych doctor during the day in question, is that too a mitigating circumstance? Someone please e-mail me.

  26. Why am I seeing so many Transitional Employee job postings online for my District? I am on the ‘Hiring List’ and awaiting further instruction from the PO. What are my chances of being processed before 1/16/09?

  28. need to rethink why are there people watching carriers like safety inspectors? Why do we need 4 supervisors per branch? Why do we need our services outsourced just like what happened this week with usps.com being non functional to the over million shippers nationwide?

The USPS could save a lot of money in the future by purchasing their own post offices right now with the land and housing markets the way it is.

  30. Hey guys, thought I would say this as I plan to bail out next year. I started as a carrier, moved up to clerk and now am a front line supervisor which is the bottom of the management pole. I did this to jack my retirement up a little. However, I did have a desire to try the same as in the Corps. That is, if you take care of the health, morale and well-being of the troops then they will take care of the mission. And craft employees are the backbone of the USPS. YOU do the job, not Management. Needless to say I have encountered resistance as I have no ego about my position. I still laugh and joke with my employees. And for what it is worth, I have actually refused to take action on an employee when I felt it was unfair. An employee calls in sick, first time in three months and Im told to do an II…no way. Hell, they are doing a lot more with less people. The USPS is burning out there workers. I see that rule is by intimidation and super egos. God, for those of you who have some time left…I do wish you luck and hope it does change….PS I love the posts….

  32. It doesn’t matter what the BIG BOYS do, the USPS is going belly up. Take Baltimore, where I retired from. You have a Plant Manager whose favorite word is F***, he comes on the work floor kicking plastic trash cans and then berates employees, managament as well as craft in fornt of everyone. If Incontro is typical of Postal management the P.O. will be don in 10-15 years.

  34. jobs havent been filled in my area for a few years now. Jobs that are vacated because of retirement , death, transfers or any other reason. Jobs are being cut at the same time basically make us all a flexable employee.

  36. I guess I talked out of my ass earlier, all I hear now it about all the negative publicity about the postal service, like clem and sylvester and how rotten they have gotten with mail count that is going on till 3-14-09. If management doesn’t get a clue soon, our competition is going to eat usps up!!

  38. I was wrong on the number 10 statement. My postmaster threatened me and made me put that post on this site. She was already on this site on the clock and gave me 50 bucks to talk drizzle. I put this post up for free, postmasters suck!!
