Postal Service to return hurricane aid to Louisiana

Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-New Orleans, said household goods meant for the 2005 hurricane victims but given away by the Federal Emergency Management Agency will be returned to Louisiana.

Landrieu said the U.S. Postal Service told her today it will return the supplies to Louisiana.

The Postal Service’s pledge to return the supplies comes after CNN reported that FEMA gave away $85 million in household goods to other states and government agencies, including the Postal Service, after they sat for two years in a FEMA warehouse.
